Résumé
The purpose of International Development Project Appraisal, Execution Planning and Monitoring is to provide the reader with an overview of the various analytical efforts involved in preparing and appraising a development project funded in cooperation with international donors. It puts emphasis on explaining the key concepts in a simple fashion and on showing the interrelationships between the various facets of project preparation and appraisal. Professionals and students with an interest in development work will fi nd it a handy reference, regardless of their areas of expertise or academic background.

Joseph Martial Ribeiro is a professional civil engineer with a Ph.D. in hydrology. He is a registered member of the Quebec Order of Engineers. He has worked in academic and industrial research in Canada, and as a private consultant in Canada and West Africa. He has also been a lecturer in hydrology and statistics at the École Polytechnique de Montréal and in applied statistics at the CESAG (Centre africain d'études supérieures en gestion), a business school in Sénégal. He currently works with the African Development Bank, based in Tunis, as a Procurement Specialist and Project Task Manager
