In 1933, folklorist John Lomax and his eighteen-year-old son, Alan, embarked on a tour of the American South with a modest budget and a lofty aim: to preserve America's folk heritage. Together, they visited churches, plantations and penitentiaries under the auspices of the Library of Congress, seeking out and recording the very best folk songs, gospel, and blues. Among their discoveries were the Delta bluesman Son House and the jailed singer Huddie Ledbetter, better known as Lead Belly. On this, their most ambitious musicological expedition, John and Alan Lomax saved for posterity thousands of songs that might otherwise have vanished without a trace. More than that, they amassed an archive of recordings that would shape the blues-driven rock 'n' roll of the 1960s and beyond. As George Harrison once remarked, "No Lead Belly, no Beatles."

    Frantz Duchazeau, de son vrai nom Frantz Duchazeaubeneix, est né le 11 octobre 1971 à Angoulême. Le 2 janvier 1993, ne fuyant ni dictature ni répression militaire, il s'installe tranquillement à Paris. Il fait ses premiers pas dans différents journaux et magazines, comme ‘Spirou' et ‘Mickey'. En 2002, il dessine le premier volet d'"Igor et les monstres" (Dargaud), une série écrite par Pierre Veys. Fort de ce coup d'essai, il publie, avec son copain Gwen de Bonneval au scénario, un double album intitulé "Gilgamesh" (Dargaud). Puis il enchaîne plusieurs albums avec un autre ami, Fabien Vehlmann : "La nuit de l'Inca" (Dargaud, 2003 et 2004), "Dieu qui pue, dieu qui pète" (Milan, 2006), "Les Cinq Conteurs de Bagdad" (Dargaud, 2006), "Le Diable amoureux et autres films jamais tournés par Méliès" (Dargaud, 2010).Le succès venant, il se lance dans une carrière solo en 2006 et signe plusieurs albums : "Les Vaincus" (Dargaud, 2007), "Le Rêve de Meteor Slim" (Sarbacane, 2008), "Les Jumeaux de Conoco Station" (Sarbacane, 2009) et "Lomax" (Dargaud, 2011), puis il entame une tournée mondiale à la rencontre de son public... avant de revenir à la réalité.En parallèle, Frantz s'essaie à l'illustration jeunesse, pour Nathan, Flammarion, Milan ou Sarbacane.
