She has written extensively on capitalism and the immense toll corporate crime inflicts on human lives, environments, communities and workers/employees. In 2010 she received the Gilbert Geis Lifetime Achievement Award for scholarship on white collar crime. She is co-author of The Surveillance-Industrial Complex: A Political Economy of Surveillance.
