    Philosophe allemand, Karl Marx (1818-1883) est un théoricien célèbre pour sa critique du capitalisme et sa vision de l'histoire comme résultat de la lutte des classes (opposant les capitalistes et le prolétariat), à l'origine du marxisme. Outre Le Capital, il a écrit des textes aussi célèbres que le Manifeste du parti communiste, Le 18-Brumaire de Louis Bonaparte, La Guerre civile en France.

  • Leon Trotsky (auteur)

    Léon Trotsky (1879-1940) est avec Lénine un des principaux acteurs de la révolution d'Octobre. Président du soviet de Petrograd, puis commissaire du peuple pour l'Armée et les Affaires navales de l'URSS, il s'oppose à la bureaucratisation du régime stalinien. Chassé d'URSS en 1929, il passe le reste de sa vie en exil. Fondateur de la Quatrième Internationale, il meurt assassiné par un agent de Staline à Mexico.
